Licensed taxis only
Every driver on Ryde drives their own taxi with a taxi permit, a PSV driver's licence and insurance that covers passengers, all in date. A driver whose papers lapse cannot go online until they are renewed.
Golf carts on Ryde are rentals you drive yourself. They never carry paying passengers.
The fare
The fare is worked out from the distance and shown before you book, with a surcharge late at night. You pay your driver in cash; card payment in the app is on its way.
